About

Holly Fay’s art practice focuses on the interconnectedness of natural phenomena, correlations in biological systems, phenomenology and the lived environment, and more-than-human perception. Drawing is central to Fay’s practice. By using direct processes and a simplicity of media, Fay makes work which invites contemplative engagement and consideration of the underpinnings of the natural world that sustains us.

Fay’s work has shown nationally and internationally, is included in private and public collections, and has been recognized with grants from the Canada Council of the Arts, SK Arts, and a UCross fellowship.

Grateful to live and work on Treaty 4 lands, situated on the territories of the nêhiyawak, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis/Michif Nation, Holly Fay teaches Painting and Drawing in the Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance at the University of Regina SK.

Living in the distinctive Prairie Ecozone, informs Fay’s practice. Sky, water, earth, light, and the under-seen in nature are recurring subjects in her work.
