Scape paintings / paradox paintings

This body of oil paintings from the early to mid-nighties addressed anxiety and disquietude over the environment. The large scale paintings - 5 x 8 ft were built up with layers of thinly applied oil glaze to create a depth of “backlight” colour, and a reflective surface, in which viewers standing directly in front would see their silhouette reflected, and part of or implicated in the context of the imagery
